FAQs
Where are the foods prepared?
Meals, snacks, broths and beverages are prepared in the commercial kitchen located at the St. Albert Food Bank. This is to ensure I am in accordance with the regulations set out by Alberta Health Services for licensed food establishments.
Is the food safe to eat?
I would never serve anything to you that I wouldn’t feed to my own family. Every possible measure is taken to ensure that the foods are stored and cooked according to strict safety guidelines. As a licensed food establishment, I am subject to inspection by a health & safety officer with AHS.
I have allergies; can I still hire you?
I have good news and bad news. The bad news is, since my foods are prepared in a shared kitchen, I cannot guarantee that cross contamination hasn’t occurred. However, I have allies and connections in the community to help me locate foods that can accommodate most severe allergies (peanuts, dairy, gluten, egg, etc). Let’s chat and see what we can come up with!
Do I have to be pregnant/have a baby to hire you?
Not at all! While I cater most often to new moms, I am more than open to the opportunity of helping out seniors, those recovering from surgery/injury, or anyone who is just plain burnt-out and needing some extra support!
Do you have payment plans available?
Yes! You may choose to pay in full upon booking, or we can split up your payments according to our visit schedule.
I live outside of St. Albert; can I still order food?
Please contact me to discuss your needs further.
We have a large family; can we add-on extra meals?
Yes! Any extra meals or services can be added on for an additional fee.
What happens during an in-home visit?
This is entirely up to you! Visits can look like light cleaning, holding baby while you rest, entertaining older children or pets, providing space and ceremony for you to share your experience; whatever would best fill your cup!
Can I submit any of the costs under my insurance benefits?
Unfortunately since I am not a licensed health-care practitioner, the deposit and fees are not eligible for benefits. If cost is a concern, please schedule a consultation so that we can come up with a plan that best suits your needs.
What is your refund policy?
The initial 50% deposit due upon time of booking is non-refundable. If you decide to cancel your care package, any unpaid fees left can be cancelled with at least 48 hours notice.
Can I customize my own package?
Absolutely! Let’s schedule a consult and chat about your vision.
